What data is collected
When accessing the website, technically necessary data is processed, such as IP address, time of access, page visited, and browser type. If you use the contact form, the information you enter is stored, usually name, email address, and your message. Required fields are marked as such.
Access data while reading
Every page visit leaves a brief technical trace in the server log. This includes the shortened IP address, date and time, the address accessed, the amount of data transferred, and information about the browser and operating system. This information cannot be assigned to a person on its own and is not merged with contact inquiries.
Information from the contact form
What you write in the form is stored exactly as is: name or nickname, email address, subject, and message text. For result corrections or roster tips, a link to the source and the date of the match are helpful. You can leave fields not marked as required empty.
We do not use accounts, newsletter lists, or advertising profiles. Anyone who only reads tournament reports, team pages, or the meta-guide leaves no further information other than technical access data. This keeps the reading visit clearly separated from the writing contact.
Purpose of processing
What we use data for
Technical access data is used for secure operation and error analysis. Information from the contact form is used exclusively to process your request, such as for result corrections, roster tips, or press inquiries. It is not used for advertising purposes.
- Ensure operation: detect attacks, find errors in reports or tables, isolate outages.
- Clarify requests: read message, check source, ask questions, publish correction.
- No advertising mail: no disclosure to address brokers, no profile for ads.
Legal basis
On what basis this happens
The processing of technical data is based on the legitimate interest in secure and functional operation. The processing of information from the contact form is carried out to process your request. Where consent is required, it is obtained before processing.
You can revoke your consent with effect for the future, for example by sending a short message to the editorial team. Processing that has taken place until then remains unaffected. Details on cookies can be found in the separate Cookie Policy.
View Cookie PolicyStorage duration
Access data is only stored as long as necessary for secure operation and error analysis. We keep messages from the contact form as long as they are needed for processing and potential follow-up questions. Afterward, they are deleted, provided there are no legal retention obligations.
Server logs: short and separate
Logs are regularly overwritten and not permanently archived. For troubleshooting, we look at clusters, such as many crashes on a tournament page, not the behavior of individual readers. As soon as the issue is resolved, storage ends.
Messages: until the request is resolved
A correction to a match result remains until the report is checked and a follow-up question is answered. After that, we delete the history. Only if an invoice, a press inquiry with a contract, or a legal obligation is involved does the statutory period apply.
Deletion without detours
If the purpose ceases to exist, the data record is deleted or shortened so that it is no longer personally identifiable. Backups are overwritten in the normal cycle. There is no separate storage "just in case".
Your rights
You have the right to information about the data stored about you, to correction of incorrect information, to deletion, and to restriction of processing. You can also object to the processing insofar as it is based on a legitimate interest. Please direct inquiries to the editorial team via the contact page.
It is best to write from the email address you first contacted us with. This allows us to assign your message without requiring additional proof.
Information: what is stored about me?
You will find out whether and what information we have about you, where it comes from, and what we use it for. For contact inquiries, this is usually your name, email address, time and content of your message, and the status of the processing.
Correction and deletion
We correct incorrect spellings, outdated addresses, or obsolete information. We delete data whose purpose has been fulfilled and for which there is no obligation to retain. For ongoing follow-up questions, we restrict processing until clarification.
Objection and complaint
If processing is based on our legitimate interest in secure operation, you may object for reasons relating to your particular situation. Regardless of this, you are free to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example in your federal state.
Disclosure to third parties
Your data will only be disclosed if it is necessary for the provision of website operations or if there is a legal obligation. Service providers acting on our behalf process data only according to our instructions. There is no transfer for advertising purposes.
Operations include the hosting service that delivers the pages and technical maintenance in the event of malfunctions. If we receive an official order, we check the scope and obligation before anything is disclosed.
Changes to this policy
This privacy policy may be adjusted if processing or legal requirements change. The current version is available on this page. The status and content will be updated accordingly in the event of changes.
If you have written to us previously, the version at the time of contact applies to your old message. For new inquiries, the version on this page always applies.
